Endurance - the fact or power of enduring an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving way; the ability to withstand hardship or adversity; especially the ability to sustain a prolonged stressful effort or activity; denoting or relating to a race or other sporting event that takes place over a long distance or otherwise demands great physical stamina.
Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off every encumbrance and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance the race set out for us.
2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
The bible tells us repeatedly throughout the bible, God’s mercy endures forever and in Psalm 136, the Psalmist repeats 26 times!
So, what is it about this word endurance? Endurance, perseverance and patience are outward manifestations of faithfulness, therefore since endurance plays such significant role in the character of our heavenly Father, and we’re made in His image and Likeness, It follows that Endurance must be a key element in the life of a Christian and in the growth and development of our character. In other words, to walk this Christian journey, successfully, endurance is required, and an absolute necessity and God will allow times of testing, to help us grow in character and expand our faithfulness
