Journey and Battle in Holy Week Hymnody

Deaconess Ruth McDonnell, PhD student at Concordia Seminary, joins Andy and Sarah to talk about metaphor theory in hymnody, how our Christian worldview guides how we read hymns, and how we can understand the theology of the hymns of Holy Week. We study Lutheran Service Book 454 “Sing My Tongue the Glorious Battle” and give hints for studying Lutheran Service Book 438 “A Lamb Goes Uncomplaining Forth.”
