Ayomide's Story

Since the age of 13, Ayomide Akran has been teaching young girls about menstrual hygiene while also advocating for improved access to affordable sanitary pads for underserved girls and young women across Nigeria. Her foundation, the Pink Diva Organization is dedicated to tackling the issue of menstrual poverty, a troubling phenomenon affecting over 500 million women across the world, with 30 million in Nigeria alone.
