For senior Eliza Josephson, everyday experiences are imbued with her passion for words. It all started when inspiration spontaneously struck at day camp and 7-year-old Eliza constructed her very first poem, what became adopted as the camp’s mani-pesto. Since then, words have accompanied her everywhere: Subway advertisements, her neighborhood of Jackson Heights, and The Phoenix. Through the lens of Isabel Allende’s short story Dos Palabras, Eliza reflects on how words have authored a special place for her in her community in this first episode of ADMITTED’s new season.
