The CSP Crew talks about bandwidth for your church LiveStream and why. Understand the reason why your stream is weak or dropping out is a important part of troubleshooting.
Generally, the recommended internet speed for live streaming (480p standard definition) should be at least 3 Mbps. The minimum download speed also varies between streaming services. You may need a higher speed if multiple devices are connected to the internet at the same time.
Recommended audio bitrate is up to 128 kbps. Maximum resolution is 1080p, with 60 frames reproduced per second. Aim for an upload speed of 6 to 7 Mbps (although Facebook limits most accounts to 720p resolution). For 720p video at 30 or 60 frames per second, aim for an upload speed of roughly 3 to 4 Mbps
A good internet speed is anywhere between 50 and 100 Mbps. Speeds of 50 to 100 Mbps allow a few people to stream in HD or even 4K, stream music, game, browse social media, and work from home.
