Out of all the topics that I get questions on from our CDC Community Membership members, the topic that gets discussed the most is how to find and select repertoire. When I look back at my most successful concerts, and I compare how I have selected repertoire from concert to concert, there are some common themes that appear.

In Episode 38 of the podcast, I break those common themes down into 5 concepts that I have found absolutely essential in choosing repertoire for my choirs.  Follow these concepts, and you will put your choirs in position to have a positive rehearsal experience and a successful performance.

Want to learn more about my process for selecting choir repertoire?  I am teaching a workshop inside of our Choir Director Corner Community Membership called “Finding and Selecting Repertoire for the Busy Choir Director”. In the workshop I will discuss how to find repertoire, how to select repertoire that’s at the appropriate difficulty level, and the criteria I use when selecting repertoire. There are tons of repertoire ideas and PDF’s to help you, including recommended repertoire lists. The workshop is just one of dozens of resources in the membership, which you can find over at:
