Jo Hands is asking the questions this week, with Alan Lim in the hot seat - and they're talking all things mentoring. Alan is an insightful Entrepreneur with Fellow CPA and over 25 years of extensive and diverse financial and operating experience working as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer with companies from Big4 KPMG, Public Listed Sunway ($2 Billion Conglomerate), National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) $22 Billion Federal Scheme and a whole load more.
Alan's three words for the year have been his guiding principals throughout Covid and hold him in good stead as the world adjusts to a Covid-normal future: Resilience. Adaptability. Agility.
For Alan, the Big4 KPMG was the biggest influence in his development of networking, mentoring, leadership and personal development. And once he left, he was on a mission to make a difference through mentoring, promoting his services through his unique community hashtag #itallchangesfromhere. He has many techniques he teaches his mentees, such as applying the Sun Tzu Principles (know your enemy, know yourself, and win the war), splitting your career into 10 year blocks, and applying the 80/20 principal.
