Ray Costanzo and Golden Grove are a wine enthusiast’s dream. Ray, born and raised in the emerging Granite Belt region, made it his mission, after working vintages all over the world, to show case the Granite Belt's very best, capitalising on one of Australia’s most exciting emerging regions. Ray boasts being the first Qld wine maker to receive Young Gun recognition. Anyone who has been following Ray’s work at the magical Golden Grove Estate will know that Ray’s 2022 vermentino swept across the nation picking up awards and acclaim left right and centre, and having tasted this wine on a number of occasions I can safety say that this is a wine that perfectly reflects Ray’s ethos being respect for culture and heritage while brining innovation and obsession with detail. It was such a treat sitting down with Ray and tasting his latest while hearing the story of a man whose dedication and passion for his craft have taken an industry be storm.
