I think the first ever social media platform I recall hearing about was Myspace. Can’t ever say I got amongst that one when I was at school, but in the blink of an eye, its out with the old and in with Facebook. And it was all Facebook. For a long time. Until it wasn’t – and then it was Twitter, Pintrest Snapchat, Instagram, and TikTok – you get the picture – this world ditches and upgrades pretty rapidly and if you want to be part of the conversation, then the world really demands quite a lot from you – you need to keep up. This requires constantly monitoring the online world around you, reading the wind and adapting or anticipating where possible. This stuff is really time consuming and even then you might just have misread the room. Now just imagine trying to be a small business trying to stay relevant in this conversation. It’s kind of tough. Yet there are some people who are particularly good at reading and picking the changes, and who have created a passion out of sharing and promoting brands in this rapidly evolving landscape. I recently sat down with Ella Pradella who runs the Cheeky Vino website – the mission of which is to simplify wine for the consumer and make it fun. Ella is also passionate about producers and loves promoting their products in this fast-paced online world. And it takes a lot to keep up with the flow – just ask her. Ella was kind enough to share her story, the story of the Cheeky Vino and her insights on just what it takes to stay relevant in the fastest and most volatile conversation going around. A massive thanks to Ella for joining me.
