Over the last four years, CJ Russo has been documenting the impacts of cannabis legalization on the legacy community in California, which culminated into the historic feature documentary film, Lady Buds. She's a filmmaker who aims to give visibility to underrepresented communities by telling stories that authentically reflect our beautifully diverse world. Her award-winning short films have screened at the Sundance Film Festival, and have been broadcast on Showtime, PBS, IFC, LOGO and NETFLIX. After receiving two art degrees in Photography — a BFA from the University of Buffalo and MFA from the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, NY — Russo moved to Hollywood to pursue her filmmaking dreams. She's a multiple grant recipient and fellow of filmmaking programs of Film Independent, Women In Film, Sundance and IFP. Lady Buds is her first feature film, which is in theaters now and available on iTunes, Amazon and several other streaming platforms.
