MIND GAMES – The Battle Within

Jesus died, and Jesus rose again…and everything changed! So much so that when you read the New Testament, it is clear that the death and resurrection of Jesus offers a completely new and transformed life the second we choose to make Jesus our Lord. But what about those days when we don’t feel like any transformation has occurred at all? Well, there is a battle that is occurring, not on the outside, but deep within our minds. Peter calls us to, Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. (1 Peter 5:8). The greatest battle is the battle within our minds, and that’s where the transformed life begins!

More Than Conquerors (Current 3-Part Series)

How would you answer the question: “What difference does the death and resurrection of Jesus make in your life?”. If your answer is something like, “My sins are forgiven and I get to go to heaven.”, you would be partially right. While the writers of the New Testament would agree with the answer, they would point out that it’s not just about going to heaven. It makes a difference in our lives NOW! The writers call us to re-think the impact of the resurrection on our lives. 

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.     Romans 8:37
