Inspired by Andy and Ralph's request to break out the "rapid fire" approach to biblical interpretation, keep the conversation lighter, and stay on point with the group, the Burros of Berea present "Notes from the Underground". These special episodes are designed for the ardent studier of all things biblical. A deeper, deep dive, let's say. This particular episode is designed to break down the Old Testament apocalyptic language and carry it over to the New Testament to elaborate on its use and how to properly understand it. When we read "coming in the clouds" we can literally see this in our minds like a UFO event. When we read "the Sun will be darkened" we think of a Solar Eclipse in the sky. In order to fully understand the use of this language, Rick and Andy pour through the Old Testament to establish the patterns of prophetic utterances of doom to a particular nation in order to develop the points and meaning coming from the Olivet Discourse.
