- Aussies had a stinker in The Open Championship with Mark Leisman the only aussie to make the cut finishing 52nd. The worst Australian result in 70 years
- The Opals win the Fiba Asia women’s World Cup for the first time. Currently ranked #2 in the world
- Jimmy Crute had a win at UFC 318 with a first round armbar on Marcin Prachino
- Paul Gallen defeated Sonny Bill Williams in their heavyweight bout in Sydney
- Scott Boland became the 10th Australian man to take a Test hat-trick during his team's 176-run win over West Indies in Jamaica. They bowled them out for just 27 runs.
- Molly Picklum comes up short in Jbay finishing 2nd in the event, still leads the Women's rankings with one event to go
- Socceroos coach Tony Popovic says there is still a future for former Adelaide United forward Nestory Irankunda in the Socceroos set up. The 19-year-old winger is set for a move from Bayern Munich to English Championship club Watford
