Perhaps like me you owned one or you are familiar with them from attending show, either way you are going to love this interview with Tom Cardwell where he gets into the psychology behind the actual phenomenon of the battle vest. Tom should know. Apart from being a veteran battle jacket wearer, he’s a University lecturer, a painter, and a researcher currently studying for a PhD project which uses painting to examine the customised cut-offs worn by heavy metal fans. His thesis is entitled Still Life And Death Metal: Painting The Battle Jacket.
