Dealing With Culture Identity With Viviana Maldonado

Hey girl, thank you so much for being here for today’s episode. In today’s episode, Viviana talks to us about her experience with cultural identity and the struggles that come with it. Her parents were born and raised in Mexico and moved to Texas where Viviana was born. At the age of 9 years old, Viviana and her family moved to Nebraska due to her parents’ missionary work. Throughout the years Viviana has faced criticism for wanting to play sports and not speaking Spanish at school. Viviana was questioned about her identity as a Latina all her young adult life. Now, she is the founder of “The Jefa Life”, a blog that she created to inspire Latinas to take control of their careers.
