Addicted to Your Technical Work. 

I have a Signature Talk – and this is how I start it…

If you’re having a hard time getting free of your business,

You may be addicted to your Technical

Well you say, what’s wrong with doing the Technical work.

LISTEN to me closely…nothing.   If that is your choice.

But for most it is not a choice – it is a Chain.

Most people start a business and they have plans to grow a business – But they don’t grow the business and the can’t grow the business Because they are addicted to the Technical work

WHAT do I mean by the Technical Work?

It is the Order Fulfillment work of your business

Here is the Problem – you think you are an Entrepreneur – and you are a Technician.

That is the E-Myth

The Entrepreneurial Myth – it is the fatal assumption

He is the one who said…”you must stop going to work IN …”

THIS is why it is very hard for you NOT to be addicted:

This is why you are ADDICTED TO WORKING IN…

ADDICTED TO THE TECHNICAL WORK

• You love it – or you loved it at one time


• You are very good at it


• You are better at it than anyone else in the company


• It is comfortable. You know exactly what to do


• It is busy work – – – your hands are busy – and sometimes that just feels good.


• You like the feeling of accomplishing something


• YOU LIKE to look and feel busy


• You like the strokes of approval for activity and productivity

Here is the problem with This Addiction

• You don’t have a business, you have a job


• When you’re not working, you are not making money


• You cannot scale your business


• You have no job security – if you get hurt – and cannot work – you are out of business


• You don’t have a life – just a job

What is the Cure?

The knowledge is the beginning of the cure –

If you just heard this for the first time – – – You may have had a breakthrough.

Just the awareness of what you’re doing – opens the door to new possibilities
