Author PeTika Tave discusses her children’s picture books, Beautiful As You Are! and Brilliant As You Are!, which are designed to empower kids to love and accept themselves as enough, exactly as they are. As a teacher, PeTika has seen firsthand the impact that low self-esteem can have on children. She struggled as a kid herself, reaching 6 ft tall and 300 lbs by the age of 13. In her 20's, PeTika began a journey of weight loss and self-discovery, writing poems that eventually found their way into her books.
