VI. Application: God's Righteousness at Work— Romans 12:1-15:13
A. Application to Our Conduct — 12:1-21
1. The Foundation of Our Conduct: Present Yourself — 12:1-2
a. Therefore, present your bodies as a living sacrifice (v1)
b. We are not to conform to the worldly system (v2a)
c. Rather, be reprogrammed to the way God thinks (v2b)
d. That by testing you may discern what is the will of God (v2c)
2. The Believer’s Conduct in Humility — 12:3-8
a. Don’t think of yourself too highly, God gave it to you (v3)
b. There is unity, diversity, and harmony in the church (v4-5)
c. We all have different gifts in accordance with God’s grace (v6a)
d. Prophecy is the ability to receive truth by direct revelation (v6b)
e. Ministry or teaching (v7)
f. Exhortation or giving or ruling or mercy (v8)
3. The Believer’s Conduct in Love — 12:9-21
a. To Those Within The Church— 12:9-16
1. Have a genuine, sincere love, not a facade (v9a)
2. We are to be disgusted by evil (v9b)
3. Hold fast to what is good (v 9c)
4. Love one another with brotherly affection(v10a)
5. Outdo one another in showing honor (v10b)
6. Do not be slothful in zeal (v11a)
7. Be fervent in spirit (v11b)
8. Serving the Lord (v11c)
9. Rejoicing in hope (v12a)
10. Be patient in tribulation (v12b)
11. Be constant in prayer (v12c)
12. Contribute to the needs of the saints (v13a)
13. Seek to show hospitality (v13b)
14. Bless those who persecute you, don’t curse them (v. 14)
15. Rejoice with those who rejoice (v15a)
16. Weep with those who weep (v15b)
17. Live in harmony with one another (v16a)
18. Do not be haughty (v16b)
19. Know the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight (v16c)
