Consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God (v11)c. The Believer’s Yielding1. Do not to let sin rule as king in your mortal bodies (v12)2. Do not to let your bodies be tools of the sin nature (v13)3. Because we are not under law but under grace (v14)2. The New Principle of Sanctification: Slaves to Righteousness1. Is it permissible to sin occasionally? No (v15)2. We are slaves to what we choose to obey (v16)3. We believed the teaching and committed to it (v17)4. We have become slaves of righteousness (v18)5. Once slaves to impurity, now to righteousness (v19)6. As a slave to sin, we were free from righteousness (v20)7. But the fruit of sin was shameful leading to death (v21)8. A slave to God, fruit is sanctification and eternal life (v22)9. We earned death, God’s grace gave us eternal life (v23)
