A. Urgings—Warning—Encouragement - 10:19-39

1. Urgings - 10:19-25

a. We are urged to have confidence to enter the holy place 19

b. By a new and living way which He inaugurated (v20)

c. Since we have a great priest over the house of God (v21)

d. Let us keep on drawing near in worshipping God (v22)

e. Hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering (v23)

f. Consider helping one another to love and good deeds (v24)

g. Not forsaking our own assembling together (v25)

2. The Fourth Warning - Warning of Willfully Sinning - 10:26-31

a. Willfully sinning rejects the Son’s sacrifice (v26)

b. Willfully sinning results in a judgment of fire (v27)

c. The OT taught a divine physical judgment (v28)

d. A severer punishment for those who reject the Son (v29)

e. Vengeance is the Lord’s and He will judge His people (v30)

f. A terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God (v31)

3. Encouragement - 10:32-39

a. They had enduring faith through conflict and sufferings (v32

b. They suffered personally and by association with others (33

c. They suffered both internal and external agony (v34)

d. Don’t get rid of your confidence, it has great reward (v35)

e. For you have need of endurance to receive the promise (36

f. God intends to fulfill His purpose in His time (vs 37-38)

g. But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul (v39)
