Like Timothy, we may be facing many challenges and inadequacy within ourselves. This is because men are inherently weak. But God did not give us a spirit of timidity to fret on uncertainties. The spirit God gives us is one that drives us from self-reliance to God-reliance in problems and trials. One that is strengthened by the gospel, not by our own will. That is the spirit's way.
