There's been a theme running through the podcasts this month as we continue to look at what it takes to engage with others when it's so much easier to retreat, and that theme is humility.
Y'all, we can continue to retreat from hard conversations and allow the enemy of our souls to continue to divide us OR we can make up our minds to humble ourselves.
Let's choose the latter. It's going to be difficult. It may stir up some fear and anxiety, but it will be worth it every time, and Dr. Saundra Dalton-Smith and Lori Roeleveld are here to help us.
They are the authors of Colorful Connections: 12 Questions About Race That Open Healthy Conversations, and I'm grateful for how they continue to encourage to shake off the fatigue surrounding these issues and engage.
Today, we're reading one of my life verses, 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV), over one another as we begin to get into this conversation. It reads:
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
