Hello strivers, thrivers, and survivors-
Each of us, at one point or another in our childhood, dreams of being a hero. Of donning the cape and mask. Of rushing toward, while others are fleeing from. Of saving lives and destroying the oppressor. Of being revered by the masses.
Then, at some point, something happens. Some say that reality sinks in. Others claim we simply mature and outgrow these naive dreams. We go to school. We find a job. We get married. We have kids. We retire. We die. Never having leapt a tall building. Not. Even. Once.
After all it's pretty tough acting the hero, while spending our days in a cubicle.....
Bulls__t!
Heroism doesn't require death-defying action and grandiose response. We don't have to have a secret identity or a hidden lair. There's merely one requirement....a decision to be! Each of is presented with opportunities throughout the day to make (or not make) this decision. They may be subtle. They may be quiet. But they're there, right in front of you.
Go back to the days when heroism seemed within your grasp. When you were certain that you would someday save the world. Brush off the decades of self-doubt. Of being average. Of fear.
In other words, take your foot off the emergency brake and find that "S" you once wore so proudly.
Peace and Prosperity to you all,
Brian
