Should you avoid gluten if you have autoimmune disease, or is it only when you have celiac disease?

Gluten can directly impact autoimmune disease in celiac disease, but gluten can also indirectly contribute to autoimmune disease by its effect on the digestive system.

In this episode, I will share with you how gluten's impact on gut health may lead to autoimmunity.

Highlight's from today's episode include:

  • How gluten can promote leaky gut syndrome and contribute to autoimmune disease.
  • Why gluten can initiate other food sensitivities.
  • Cross-reactivity of other grains and gluten
  • Non-celiac gluten sensitivity is linked to specific autoimmune diseases such as Hashimoto's, psoriasis and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
  • Testing for non-celiac gluten sensitivity.
