Laura House! Comic, writer, teacher and podcaster - Recorded at the All Things Comedy studios (you’re welcome for the awesome sound quality).

Laura fully lives the notion that we make our own opportunities.  While teaching 7th grade during the day and performing in comedy clubs at night, Laura was recruited to develop and star in the ground breaking MTV scripted sit-com, Austin Stories.  This launched the ability to write and develop scripts for television shows such as Blue Collar TV, The George Lopez Show, Mad Love, Loosely Exactly Nicole, and the Emmy-winning shows Samantha Who and Mom and the BAFTA-winning BBC series, Secret Life of Boys. 

Her writing also appears in VICE, Broadly and several anthology books, including Darkness Before Light, Stricken the 5,000 Stages of Grief, True Tales of Lust and Love and Comedy Film Nerds Guide to the Movies.  

Her incredibly funny and relatable comedy album Laura House: Mouth Punch is available on all platforms.  She performs and produces a comedy show and has recently launched a new podcast called How to Hate Yourself that takes a look at the inner voice of self-sabotage.  Laura breaks down how hard it can be to get things done even when you are a successful self-starter - who can relate?

A generous soul, Laura teaches meditation utilizing comedy to demystify a super easy, practical practice. She treats us to a lesson at the end of the show.  In addition to comedy club stand-up, she also performs nationally at recovery events including the NA World Convention.
