“a river cuts through rock, not by shear power, but through persistence.”
Today I had the absolute pleasure to talk with slalom kayak powerhouse, Jessica Fox. Jess is a 10x World Champion and multiple Olympic medalist, and explains what it was like to grow up with a family of multi world champion kayakers. She explains that she didn’t want to be a kayakers at first, though fell in love with the sport after being told it would help with rehabbing an injury. Jessica shares her training regimen and mentality towards training for the 2021 Olympics games in Tokyo, Japan. She also shares here insight on how the Tokyo games will likely be quite different from both the past past Olympics in London and Rio. This episode is filled with both the nuts and bolts needs to excel in the world of salmon kayaking as well as the over aching mentality to become a multiple world champion and fining your own peak performance.
