Topic: Destructive Criticism vs. Constructive Criticism

If you're a giraffe, metaphorically speaking, you're constantly looking up and eating from the trees that are at eye-level. You don't often see giraffes looking down and eat from below. TD Jakes has said before that the people below you can't give you constructive criticism because they have never "been there; done that".....they actually give you destructive criticism: "I told you that you couldn't do it, who said you could be a coach?, you're not very academic, I don't think you're as good as you say you are, you don't have a degree in ________ so how could you speak about it?, you're not a doctor so how could you speak about mental health?, you're not smart enough, good enough, bright enough, white enough, black enough.....etc."

The list goes on and on....so you need to get the correct criticism from those who are on your level and above. The ignorance below should be ignored.
