After taking a couple of tests during class with my student a couple of days ago, we went on to talk about our families. It's very interesting to see that I'm the only one in my family that has a growth mindset versus a fixed mindset. I remember being asked about my accomplishments in high school and my family. In America, the first thing that happens when you sit at an affluent table are questions about your family.
"What do your parents do? Sisters and brothers?"
And what happens following that is them putting you in a box.
Is that fair?
