I spent many Christmases in a painful place after my parents passed away. For me, Christmas became a stark reminder of loss, and I often wished I could just avoid it altogether. Looking back, I wish someone had told me that it’s okay not to feel joyful at Christmas after a loss. Grief has no timeline—it can hit you anytime, day or night.
This episode is for anyone grieving this Christmas. Be kind to yourself and remember: it’s just one day. As time flows on, things do get easier. Sending love!
