Flipping through Jeff Brunner's vibrant sketchbooks, you would not have guessed there was a gap in his prolific art making career. The imagery, line, and color are applied deftly on hundreds of pages in sketchbooks he brought along. Jeff's peaceful and studied hand comes across in his work and his process as both playful and genuine.
In his chat with Genevieve, Jeff describes his jump back into art making, beginning with an alphabet book for his niece, and leading up to today, where he currently creates work at night and on weekends, attending shows, festivals, and arcades to display it. His next appearance will be at this year's Handmade Arcade, December 6th at the David H Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh. Jeff and Genevieve also touch on support, process, and the culture around art festivals.
In addition to Handmade Arcade, you can also find Jeff and Hey Beast's work at G Squared Gallery in Ligonier this Friday, and the Mattress Factory's Winter Art Market on December 13th.
