Lets face it, we are a talented pool of craftsmen and craftswomen that are out there in the field. Our talents and skills make us valuable, not only in the realm of fire, but far far beyond - Adam and I came to the same conclusion:

Today on the show, Adam and I talk about starting your own business and the importance of a "side hustle" - Not only for some additional income, but for the fact that doing something you love in the off season may just save your sanity!

Adam Tinker is a second generation firefighter. His father is a salty OG Del Rosa Hotshot, so naturally Adam got into fire as well... Adam has spent a few years on Big Bear Hotshots, a few years on helitack, a few years on an engine, and a couple of details with dispatch. He's also one hell of a mentor, and has served as cadre at both the local and regional level.

He is a firm believer that mentorship and leadership will teach far more than you can ever give on the line...

He started Palmleaf Leather as a side hustle in 2016 shortly after getting married, and the business has flourished... He makes some kick ass leather stuff like belts, koozies, and knife sheathes - Be sure to give him a follow and check out his stuff!
