Gary Atteberry has been around the block...

He has been all the way from surf bum, Hotshot, rookie jumper, to operations manager for the Redmond Smokejumpers. He's got a lot of story to tell, and encountered some tragedy along the way...

This is the story of the life of one firefighter, cardboard flip flops, camaraderie, PTSD, and life after tragedy... More importantly, this is the story of overcoming of adversity...

We also go into what he does now at the coordination center, and how the chess pieces (resources) get moved around the GACCs and a little insight on what it takes to be a  Smokejumper!
