FDR, Christmas Message, 1940

The year before we entered WWII, President Roosevelt addressed the nation on Christmas Eve.  He spoke of Christ’s teachings and how they transcended race, ethnicity, and national borders.  Christ is the reason America has been great.  Time and again we see our leaders acknowledging this with their words and actions.  We are failing today because we have turned away from God and toward evil. And for different reasons, just like America in 1940, we find ourselves on the doorstep of darkness again. We need to look to God.
