Our VIP Feature Guest today brings light and enthusiastic energy times ten! She is the founder and CEO of Sky Women’s Health in Fort Worth, TX, a boutique gynecology and osteopathy practice in Dallas-Fort Worth. Dr. Carolyn Moyers is Board Certified OBGYN, entrepreneur, podcaster, wife and mom of four boys.

CONVERSATION HIGHLIGHTS

Sky: Dr. Carolyn talks about her Silhouette of Success journey, how she came to find her way in launching Sky Women’s Health. She reflected back, coming full circle to a fellowship and realized that she had all of the skillset that required nothing more than her hands plus her OBGYN skillset. Lightbulb! It’s for the busy professional woman, busy Mom’s and a direct care practice where the client base is smaller, and it’s such a more intimate experience and care with your Doctor. She talks about how easy it is to do what everyone else is doing, going on your own can be very uncomfortable. She tells us that it’s about coming from a place of authenticity, honoring her health and her patience health. It’s been a beautiful thing.

Happy Place: She followed her love, women’s health, delivering babies, taking care of women. This is what ignited her within! She set goals for herself through the years. Carolyn shares about her supportive family and husband, loving the time at home with her babies while also feeling that she had so much more to offer the world. She was told that she needed to go back full time and increased the volume of surgeries, deliveries-you are not enough, she was good at it...but she knew that this wasn’t “it” for her. She talks about her sense of knowing. She found a mentor, read more, listened to podcasts and started becoming an entrepreneur. She decided to open her own, cash-based practice providing excellent care. She found a place of healing during her rural health service commitment, meeting her husband and realized this was where she was meant to be.

Creative: She identified a mentor early on, Dr. Smith who told her to figure out what she wanted to do, and she would help her. Women empowering women. The concept came from a book she read titled Half the Sky, women hold up half the sky, she then joined EntreMD, a physician’s business school for marketing, sat down on the floor with her nurse on a piece of paper from her kids art easel and drew out processes, the services she wanted to provide and to this day their services evolve. She traded services for rent, just being creative. There is always a way!
