Today’s show opens with an idea that has been concerning me for a few years, now. What makes someone a dictator? What do dictatorships have in common? Can we learn from the mistakes of others beforehand or are we doomed to follow in those same footsteps as a nation?

Before we can proceed, we have to work on identifying common characteristics and traits, so we can see if we mirror any of them. When examining dictatorships throughout human history, we see three main characteristics they all possess:

1) Dictatorships use fear, intimidation and the suppression of fundamental civil liberties.

2) Dictatorships tend to resort to force or fraud to gain and/or hold onto political power.

3) Dictatorships employ techniques of mass propaganda to sustain public support.

To add more context, we also need to look at the circumstances allowing for a dictatorship to begin to ascend. Often, there is a proclamation of a state of emergency. Many times, elections are either suspended or changed without input from the appropriate legislative bodies. There is a push to implement systems designed to infringe or suspend civil liberties. Leaders begin to implement rules or laws by decree and work to repress any political opposition. They begin to allow a two-tiered system of the application of law such that the rule of law is no longer measured evenly. Finally, most dictators who arise will have a “cult of personality” around them, such that they are surrounded by “YES” men and women and a system that will promote the idea of the leader rather than the reality.

Sounding uncomfortably familiar?

To dive into this further, I then examine a few news items of the day. Hunter Biden seems to be coping a plea, taking felony charges for tax evasion and illegally buying a handgun, and getting them reduced to misdemeanors without possibility of jail time.

Delegate Stacey Plaskett (D-Virgin Islands) just said on MSNBC that Donald Trump “needs to be shot— stopped." Seems like something said in a free, Constitutional Republic.

Speaking of propaganda and states of emergency, it appears Dr. Rochelle Wallensky of the CDC, Dr. Anthony Fauci of NIAID and Dr. Francis Collins of NIH all knew, as of January 2021, that vaccines were not stopping Covid cases. Did you hear them ever admit that? Or was the state narrative protected at all costs?

The Wall Street Journal has a piece today with a headline that tells you all you need to know about how the SARS-Cov-2 narrative continues to fall apart. The story is entitled, “U.S.-funded scientist among three Chinese researchers who fell ill amid early Covid-19 outbreak.” On a similar, but positive note, a Canadian premier has officially apologized to all of the unvaccinated for the tyrannical way they were treated. We have very few politicians today who would be so brave as Danielle Smith of Alberta.

Finally, while they continue to use so many “fears” to control us, the one fear we all should have is how the Left is bringing us to the brink of nuclear war. This is the real and true threat of our day and it’s time we recognized it. Tulsi Gabbard delivered a recent speech about this very topic and it should be listened to be everyone, regardless of party. Nuclear fallout doesn’t heed party affiliation.

How have we gotten here? How are we on the brink of becoming yet another dictatorship? I close with my thoughts on this and how we can change course. It starts with picking better citizen politicians.
