Where Did You Go, Moms, Caretakers and Animal Owners?

At the end of summer, many moms I know are resonating with the feeling that we need to get back to routine, to having more support with our children, and more time to ourselves.  We become another person when our childcare responsibilities are 100% ours in the dog days of summer, but the truth is, even during the school year, they are always ALL ours, even when we share the load with schools, babysitters and helpers. How we take on that role, with or without the essence of martyrdom is unique to each of us, and we all falter in our shifting identities, just like the seasons flicker between rain and sun at this time of year.
