We return after a sudden absence to explain our disappearance, sharing candid stories about our recent medical emergencies and hospital stays.
• Claire spent over ten days in multiple hospitals dealing with a severe infection in her fallopian tubes
• A hospital procedure gone wrong left Claire with a drain tube caught on her sciatic nerve, causing excruciating pain
• After being discharged, Claire has spent weeks trying to coordinate care between two hospitals that won't take responsibility for her treatment
• Gen underwent a painful procedure and experienced a spontaneous knee dislocation while recovering alone at home
• We discuss how ADHD complicates illness—making medication management particularly challenging
• Being sick with ADHD leads to boredom, hyper-focusing on pain, and difficulty with hospital routines
• Summer parenting while recovering has created guilt, though our kids have adapted well
We're going to try to be more consistent with episodes going forward, though Claire still needs additional hospital treatment. We love doing this podcast together and appreciate your patience during our absence.
