In my latest feature for The Calgary Folk Club, I chat with the force of musical nature that is Shari Ulrich.

From her earliest work with Pied Pumkin String Ensemble, as part of The Hometown Band (Valdy), and on to solo work as well as collaborative ensembles such as UHF, BTU and The High Bar Gang, Ulrich has navigated a music industry that often provides as many barricades as it does opportunities.

In this conversation, we talk about many of those collaborations, I fail miserably pitching a joke about groups with initials, and we get some insight into her upcoming new album.
