Fairground Attraction are back—35 years after their meteoric rise to fame with the double-platinum album The First of a Million Kisses and the timeless hit Perfect. The original line-up has reunited for a 14-date UK tour and a brand-new album, Beautiful Happening, set for release on September 27th.

The band’s return has already delivered two new singles: the reflective and powerful title track, and the buoyant, hook-filled Learning To Swim, a track that captures the classic Fairground Attraction sound—effortless pop melodies, heartfelt lyrics, and Eddi Reader’s unmistakable voice, richer and more resonant than ever.

Learning To Swim sees the band exploring themes of courage and change with a wiser, older perspective, inspired by songwriter Mark Nevin’s own experience as a father. The new music marks a rebirth for the band, who reconnected after decades apart and discovered that the chemistry they once had was still very much alive.

Fairground Attraction’s original run may have been brief, but it left a lasting impact. Now, after years of silence and separate journeys, they’ve found their way back to each other—and to the music that made them unique. With Beautiful Happening, Fairground Attraction are not just back—they’re better than ever.
