This episode is my FAVORITE topic.
Today we are exploring where the ‘woo woo’ meets the neuroscience.
And spoiler alert -
the main focus is to FINE-TUNE OUR FOCUS.
Everything we do is based on how we see the world.
How our brain picks up on information and WHAT information it even picks up.
Our information processing.
Our Decision making.
Our impulses and impulse control.
Even down to our emotional responses - it alllll has to do with the way our brain is wired.
I find this to be such a fascinating topic. The words we use to describe the brain in cognitive therapy and so many conversations in neurology - tend to mirror the same conversations on manifesting, intentional creation, all of that, just with different terminology.
I will admit - the word ‘manifesting’ has been hijacked.
People call just about anything manifestation these days but let’s talk about what it really is.-
To manifest according to the Merriam Webster dictionary is:
- to readily perceived by the senses and especially by the sense of sight.
- to make evident or certain by showing or displaying.
When we talk about how something manifests, we are talking about how it shows up - how you can see it.
It is created and you can observe it.
Now in the spiritual discussion or in what we can call the woo woo discussion, there is also is a lot of that talk - talking about intentional CREATION of what you want to SHOW UP in your life.
But it isn’t just some magic. It isn’t delusional blind hope.
When you understand how the brain actually works and what it is doing - you’ll see that there is an actual science to it.
Today’s session and our season-ender covers:
- Neuroplasticity; what is it and how to improve it
- Our “survival brain” and the way it responds today
- Our parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous system responses to different stimuli
- Our reticular activating system as our main filtration system of informationWhat visualization does in the brain
And how we can use all of this information in our favor.
