Sam reflects on his life at 83, guided by practices of gratitude, kindness, and courage. He speaks about the sacred work of democracy, the pain that drives him to action, and the antidote he’s found in transformational advocacy. With more than 100 talks in just the last year and a half, Sam continues to show people that change is possible when citizens refuse to surrender to cynicism.

Drawing inspiration from astronaut Rusty Schweickart’s reminder that  “we aren’t passengers on Spaceship Earth—we’re the crew,” Sam challenges us to step fully into our role as citizens and co-creators of the future.
