The Sojourners - El Paso's Folk-Rock Band of the '70's

The Sojourners were an El Paso, Texas folk-rock band consisting of Ron and Sue Gorton, Randy Jones, Kenny Smith and Bert Peters. Several other players including Richard Chorne, Richard 'Herman Glopp' Starnes, and several drummers had some play time with the group through the years. The group was known for their unique sound of covering groups like Buffalo Springfield, Sonny & Cher and other popular cross-over bands of the late '60's and early '70's. The group recorded two 45's (1969) at the Norman Petty Studios in Clovis, N.M. Sun Summer Days, written by band member Randy Jones, received regional charting on several radio stations including KINT and KELP in El Paso.
