It felt right to start the second Season of Take Your Meds with Michael Moore. He’s a dear friend, father, partner, poet, story-teller and facilitator who brings a deep felt sense of aroha into every space he walks. He isn’t afraid to walk into the darkest of places, inside himself, and call forward parts of himself for integration and harmony, and supports men and boys to do the same!
In this episode we explore:
• Life as a religion
• Taking a break from the things we master
• Male fragility and privilege
• The heroism of vulnerability
• Excavating our inner-worlds
• Creation vs creativity moving through us
• Trauma recovery
• Nurturing the whenua
• Creating safety within ourselves
• Navigating relationships
• The divine feminine
• Being the baby again
"Ko Taupiri te Maunga
Ko Waikato te Awa
Ko Tainui te Waka
Ko Ngati Maniapoto tōku Iwi
The roles I honour most in my life at the moment are being a Dad, a partner, a guide to men and young men alike and most recently, a student to the many masks I wear.
I’m a big dreamer, attuning my body and being to love and birdsongs, sometimes with ease, sometimes in the throes of self destruction.
Perhaps storyteller is a role that gives me my greatest sense of place as an individual.
I’m fortunate to share inside gorgeous kaupapa, and have found a place for my own heart expansion in Poutama Rites of Passage, reintroducing Te Aō Māori rites into the lives of tāne and tama Tāne throughout Waikato rohe.
My name is Michael, but most people actually call me Megs, a genderless nickname that invites me still, to softer living.
Mauri Ora"
