It can be comforting to think that everything has an assigned place in the world, and that, like a well-ordered kitchen, things will make sense when everything is in its proper place. It can sometimes feel like we are a dish left on the counter, waiting to be put in our assigned space so that the world will make sense.
Of course, the cold fact of the matter is that there is no such order in the world, and, luckily for us, we can choose where we belong.
