“Spirit, tell me what I need to know.”
These are the words that Regina Louise has used throughout her life to guide her to know when it was time for her to make a move — including moments when she had to fight for her life in order to make that move.
By sixteen-years-old Regina, lived in — and failed to adjust to — thirty foster homes, group homes and psychiatric facilities and survived harsh abuse. Emancipated from the system at age 18, she had to find her own way, and was committed to one day graduate from college despite all of the school she missed and to one day share her story. At 48 years-old, Regina Louise walked across the stage Magna Cum Laude from California Institute of Integral Studies, and two weeks later, she was chosen as a Dean’s Distinguished Fellow at University of California, Riverside as a graduate student. And today, she is author of the celebrated memoir Somebody’s Someone, which has been adaptedLifetime Television Network and is scheduled to air in late 2019.
On this throwback episode of the Support is Sexy podcast -- which originally aired January 2, 2019, Regina shares why it’s important to take your dreams to bed with you, to trust where spirit guides you and to pay attention to your intuition. It's a powerful episode about courage and resilience that needs to be heard again and again.
