706: How to Play the Game to Change the Game with Tamika Milburn, CEO of Playmakers Basketball Royalties

Tamika Milburn is changing the game when it comes to women’s basketball. She was recently promoted to Commissioner of the Women’s Professional Basketball Association (WPBA) and she is CEO of Playmakers Basketball Royalties (PBR), which is home to two professional women’s basketball teams: the Philadelphia Reign and your 2018 Reigning National Champions, the Atlanta Monarchs. PBR is a branch of Playmakers International, a sport specific training and development company in the Atlanta Metro Area that focuses on the overall cognitive, social, academic, and physical development of student athletes.

PBR is a community based organization providing competitive playing opportunities and career advancement opportunities to professional basketball players. The company’s mission is to be an avenue for high caliber players to continue to advance their careers or even restart their careers while giving back to the community that supports them.

On this episode of the Support is Sexy podcast, Tamika shares how they’re using she’s using the PBR platform to positively encourage, promote and assist young girls with developing and maintaining mentally emotionally and physically healthy lifestyles.
