It was the "Mama Bear" in Lesley Pyle that moved her into her life as an entrepreneur. After giving birth to her daughter 22 years ago, the Tomball, Texas, native felt almost immediately that she wasn't going to want to return to her full-time job in an office, which would cause her to be away from her newborn all day. And she was right. When Lesley returned to work, missing her daughter was just too much. After approaching her employer to see if a flexible schedule was possible (it wasn't), Lesley decided to take the leap and begin a business of her own.
What followed next as she freelanced and worked on building her business was plenty of Ramen noodles, having to sell one of the family's cars and a lot of cutting back. What Lesley learned she needed most was a network of women like her who wanted more options for how they work. When she couldn't find one, she created it -- and her business continued to evolve from there. Eventually, HireMyMom.com was born.
