The unstoppable Disney remake train keeps a-rollin’. The latest stop on its journey? A photo-realistic reimagining of 1994’s The Lion King, featuring the voices of Donald Glover, Beyoncé and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Does the visual upgrade add a new dimension to the classic animation?
Out to rent this week is James Cameron’s long-gestating Alita: Battle Angel, directed by Robert Rodriguez. Based on a manga series with a similar title, Alita takes place in a futuristic world full of dirt, desperation and dangerous cyborgs. Common territory for a sci-fi action movie then, but does the film transcend its familiar setup?
