This episode we're listening and singing the Spirituals with Rev Hollis Wilson, learning how activists have been using music for centuries to "make resistance beautiful".

The spirituals were music born in slavery, sung through back-breaking work on plantations and in chain-gangs. Songs such as “Wade in the Water”, “The Gospel Train” and “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” carried hope of spiritual and literal liberations from the injustice Black people survived.
