Prayer 2021 - December 7 - Knowing the Will of God in Prayer pt 3

Scripture For Today:

 Psalm 142:1

“I cry aloud to the Lord; I lift up my voice to the Lord for mercy.”

Knowing the Will of God in Prayer pt 3

If you have been following this prayer series for any length of time, you often hear me quote from 1 John 5:14-15…

“And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask any thing according to His will, He hears us. And if we know He hears us, whatsoever we ask, we KNOW that we have the petitions that we ask of Him.”  Amen!

Now, there are situations that will come up about which we do not know what to pray, how to pray – any of it. This is also outlined in Romans 8:26. But the Bible STILL gives us Light as to what to do in these situations.

That is when we are going to have to trust the Holy Spirit to guide us. He’s on the inside of us. He’s not only there to assist us in prayer, but to lead us. To guide us in all of the affairs of this life. You can read that in John 16:13.

When we do not know the Will of God in a certain situation, we cannot go to God with boldness (as we read in 1 John 5:14-15). Instead, we usually come in trembling and uncertain and possibly a bit fearful, just HOPING God will do something for us.

God IS a merciful God and there will be times when we come to Him in that way and He will still help us. BUT – He desires to show us from His Word HOW to pray so that we can have Faith and confidence before Him.

God’s absolute best is for us to KNOW HIS WORD.  To know His Will. He wants us to understand this aspect of Him and then to pray in accordance with His Word and with His will. Amen!

We can go to the Word of God and find out that God’s Will is ALREADY expressed in just about everything we may encounter in this life. Every need is already met by HIM. And you can find out about this IN HIS WORD. Amen!

If you don’t know how to do this or if this is sounding a bit confusing – guess what – the devil is the author of that confusion. Amen!

So if you are a bit confused, the best thing you can do is STOP and go to the Word. Study the Word. Read the Word. Spend time in the Word. When you do that – you spend time with HIM. Amen!

You have probably heard the phrase that you are the sum total of the five people you most hang around. Right? Well, what if you spent time with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as part of the five?  How much different do you think your life would be if you started thinking, acting and behaving like the Father, Son and Holy Spirit?

I can sum it up for you in one word – VICTORIOUS!  Amen!

So get into the Word and start spending time with Him – and become more like Him every single day! Start THINKING like He thinks. Amen!
